Peter Schmid, Conductor
Peter Schmid was born in Luthern (Switzerland) in 1973. He started his musical career at the age of 10. As member of the Feldmusik Luthern he finished his recruit education as trumpet player in 1991 and thereupon he became a member of Bürgermusik Luzern. In 1997 he graduated as a wind band orchestra conductor at the Luzern conservatory and completed a study visit in Norway in 2000 having lessons with Ray Farr. He started his conductor career in 1995 when he founded the Young Brassers in Ettiswil. This was continued with a number of Swiss brass bands and wind bands, e.g. Feldmusik Ettiswil, Brasserie Willisau or the Senior Band of Musikgesellschaft Risch-Rotkreuz.
Peter Schmid is conducting the Brass Band Oberschwaben-Allgäu since January 2007.
